Winter Favorites

In lieu of a weekly favorites post I’m going to talk about some of my current winter beauty favorites. May Lindstrom The Pendulum Potion is a cleansing oil perfect for winter. It’s a heavier cleansing oil with a rich smokey scent. Macadamia, olive, avocado & plum kernel oils (some of the richer nourishing oils) combine with tamanu, camellia & cocoa oils for a divine aromatherapy experience. It’s skincare ritual at it’s truest form. I imagine the frankincense, myrrh & balsam of Peru give this it’s smokey scent. Review HERE. Josh Rosebrook makes quite a few divine things but the Advanced Hydration Mask is one of my favorites. This blue tansy balm can be used as a mask, cleansing balm and overnight balm. Blue tansy is the perfect ingredient for winter as it’s soothing, calming and can reduce that winter induced redness and irritation in one night. Review HERE.

African Botanics Fleurs d’Afrique Intensive Recovery Oil is perfect to save a step in your night routine. It combines a delectable oil with retinol. I like a retinol in oil during the harshest months of winter because it’s more gentle on the skin than a typical serum based retinol. This one by African Botanics is a medium weight so it’s nourishing and hydrating without being heavy and it has a divine jasmine scent. It’s also quite effective. Review HERE. OY-L Crystal Eye Serum is the most hydrating eye oil I’ve tried. It’s so perfect for dry winter eyes. It’s got abyssinian, cucumber, watermelon, rosehip, hemp & coffee seed oils with snow mushroom extract. Snow mushroom is great at holding and locking water in the skin similar to hyaluronic acid. Some of my favorite oils are watermelon, cucumber, hemp and coffee seed oils. Plus the real amethyst roller-ball is very cool. I love how hydrating this is, very soothing.

Perricone MD Hyalo Plasma is one of my all time favorites to add an extra hydrating plumping layer to the skin. It’s got three forms of hyaluronic acid and it layers well with everything. It’s easily my favorite gel cream to add moisture to the skin. I’m on jar three. Review HERE. Fresh Sugar Lip Polish is the best at removing dry flaky skin from the lips to reveal soft and more hydrated lips. The brown sugar scrub has enough grit yet it’s gentle while leaving behind enough oils to hydrate. Its got the perfect texture which is not too dry and packed with sugar granules like others. Review HERE. Votary Super Seed Facial Oil is the best facial oil for winter skin. It’s fragrance free, packed with 22 nourishing seed oils and not too heavy or greasy. It perfectly nourishes the skin without adding any extra potential irritation from essential oils. Review HERE.

ESPA Fitness Shower Oil has become a fast shower favorite for it’s spicy warming scent. It’s hydrating to the skin and feels so warm and comforting. Review HERE. Reverie Milk Leave-In Nourishing Treatment is an oil-cream formula that keeps hair hydrated and healthy without any silicones or heavy feeling that weighs your hair down. I love the slightly glossy sheen it leaves. It’s got a nice warm green herbal earthy scent that’s quite intoxicating.

KHUS + KHUS Rasa Restorative Potion is a highly hydrating and nourishing body cream. It’s most definitely a heavier body cream which makes it perfect for this time of year. This cream has reishi and chaga mushroom, yuzu, prickly pear and hemp butters, plus CBD. Miller Harris La Fumee Ottoman takes the smoky base of La Fumee and puts a Turkish twist on it. This version adds bergamot, cardamom, cumin, cedar wood, patchouli, Turkish rose, incense, vanilla, amber & tonka bean. It’s a smoky warm incense kind of scent. Dr Hauschka Spruce Warming Bath Essence is added to a bath to soothe and invigorate. It has a deep herbal green earthy scent that really feels warm and comforting. Perfect for this time of year and it gives you an excuse to sit in some warm water relaxing (as if you needed an excuse).

Sisley Nourishing Lip Balm has been a long time favorite of mine. It hydrates well and lasts all night long. No need to reapply. Very few lip balms can do that for me. A little pricey yes, but a pot lasts me six months. Review HERE. NÜRISH Hand & Body Deep Moisturizing Cream uses aloe, shea butter and heavy hitters olive, almond, coconut & apricot oils to deeply nourish and hydrate the skin. It feels heavy and thick on contact but remarkably it sinks in better than I expected. It’s was deeply moisturizing without being heavy or greasy. It’s been great as a night hand cream this winter.
